Chicago

A last minute travel decision a couple of weeks ago resulted in Paul and I flying out to Chicago for a few days. Some friends of ours live there and I have been wanting to get out there (you know the story, oh we're so busy blah blah blah) but we finally did it and it turned out to be one of the best ways to experience Chicago, with amazingly hilarious friends who double as tour guides on the weekend! We crammed A LOT into the 3 days... So here goes...
Cubs game vs our hometown team the Atlanta Braves (could we have NOT planned that any better) Wrigley field was a sight to see. The history behind the ballpark and the city that showed up for a 2pm Thursday game was a great combo, they say "It's a way of life", and they aren't joking. We rocked our FREE Cubs hats as we secretly cheered on the Braves.
Paul and I aren't crazy baseball fans but we had a blast. No game complete without Chicago style hot dogs, beer and of course a BIG bag of peanuts!
We also walked Magnificent Mile (actually we walked our you know whats off) but we also consumed a ridiculous amount of food while there.
We had drinks at the top of the Hancock building.
We played at Millennium Park.
Took the famous architecture boat tour.
We did the last tour of the day which means a sunset view of the city and the water! It was beautiful!
We went to Navy Pier for fireworks.
We essentially laughed and ate the entire trip so for me it goes down as one of those unforgettable, unexpected trips of a lifetime. Could not be replicated but we will definitely be back to try. Thanks AJ and Patrick for not only showing us Chicago but for being apart of the memories. What a great city!
